The study is included in IGZ’s focus area ‘Plant Quality and Food Security’, aiming to investigate how sulfur-containing secondary metabolites in Brassica vegetables interact throughout cultivation and food processing — and their effects on human health.
The Responsibilities Required
- Perform experiments in plant cultivation and food chemistry.
- Examine secondary plant metabolites through HPLC-MS and GC-MS techniques.
- Detect new reaction products
- Conduct cell biological research (e.g., cytotoxicity tests)
- Disseminate findings in global publications.
- Present results at conferences and scientific gatherings.
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must possess:
- A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Food Chemistry, Biochemistry, Nutritional Sciences, or an associated discipline
- Expertise in instrumental analytical methods (HPLC-MS, GC-MS)
- Experience in extracting natural substances and preparing plant tissues.
- Beneficial: abilities in the structural clarification of natural compounds
- Proficiency in data examination and statistical methods
- Proficient in English (both verbal and written)
- Strong drive, self-sufficiency, collaboration, and organizational skills.
