If Christiano Ronaldo joins Atletico, there will be no time to talk about it- Marcus
Christiano Ronaldo is said to be leaving Manchester United this summer. His agent is negotiating a transfer from Manchester United to Atletico Madrid.
Christiano Ronaldo has already informed his team about his decision to exit from the club this summer as he takes part in major honors and participates in the Champion’s league.
Atletico has been a choice of the five times Ballon D’or although Atletico is a fierce rival of Ronaldo’s former club Real Madrid.
In an interview with Marcos, a midfielder at Atletico, he did not give much information when asked about Ronaldo’s move to Atletico Madrid this summer.
Marcos stated that in the dressing room, teammates do not hold discussions about transfers about to happen because they are not certain about them happening. It is the same in Ronaldo’s case.
Christiano Ronaldo joins Atletico
The Atletico Madrid midfielder while in an interview stated “ No way. They talk about so many names that don’t end up coming that it is no use talking. If he comes there will be time to talk. I at least try to pass the subject because there is too much talk.”
It is worthy to note that Marcos Lorente was Christiano Ronaldo’s teammate while they played at Real Madrid.
It seems Diego Simeone’s side is one of the only clubs Ronaldo could join during the summer if he wants to participate in the upcoming champions league. Recent reports state that Georgina Rodriguez, Ronaldo’s partner also wants the Portuguese to move back to Madrid.
It should also be noted that Manchester United is also not ready to trade Christiano Ronaldo this summer. The 37-year-old was the highest scorer during the last season. Out of 38 games, he scored 24 goals across all competitions. In a contract binding him to the team, he still has one year remaining with the team.
CHRISTIANO RONALDO HAS A RECORD AGAINST ATLETICO MADRID
When he was representing Real Madrid and Juventus he was an arch enemy to Atletico Madrid. He has played against the Los Rojiblancos 37 times in his career. He has scored 25 goals and provided nine assist across all competition.
Also, Ronaldo has scored four hat tricks against Diego Simeone’s side. It would come as a surprise if Christiano Ronaldo joined Atletico Madrid. Nonetheless, Ronaldo will be a good addition to Atletico during the 2022/2023 season.
