Hungary Christian Young People Scholarships 2026/2027
A major opportunity has opened for Christian students worldwide: the Scholarship Programme for Christian Young People SCYP has begun accepting applications for the 2026 to 2027 academic cycle. Students from crisis-affected and developing regions now have the chance to study in Hungary with full financial support. The application period runs until 10 January 2026, so interested students must act quickly to secure their place for next year.
This guide gives a complete breakdown of the scholarship, what support students receive, who qualifies, and the important dates every applicant must follow.
What the SCYP Scholarship Stands For
The Hungarian government created the SCYP programme to uplift young Christian students who come from communities facing hardship. The goal is simple yet powerful: equip students with quality European education and prepare them to return home with skills that strengthen and rebuild Christian communities.
The scholarship supports full degree studies at all academic levels, covering bachelor’s, master’s, one-tier master and doctoral programmes across many respected Hungarian universities. Students can choose from a wide list of fields, ranging from social sciences to engineering and health-related programmes.
What the SCYP Scholarship Provides
The SCYP package offers strong academic and financial benefits. Students enjoy support in the following categories:
Tuition Support
- Complete exemption from tuition fees throughout the entire study programme.
Monthly Stipend
- Bachelor, Master, and One-tier Master students receive HUF 166600 each month.
- Doctoral students receive HUF 140000 in Phase One.
- Doctoral students receive HUF 180000 in Phase Two.
Accommodation Support
- Free dormitory placement
or - HUF 40000 per month to support rent.
Travel Support
- HUF 200000 each academic year for travel between the home country and Hungary.

Students should still review the cost of living in their selected Hungarian city, as the support covers most essentials but may not cover every expense.
