Human Resource Officer at Process & Plant Automation Ghana Ltd

WHAT THE ROLE IS

The HR Officer will come up with and use strategies for hiring and picking people to meet the organization’s human capital needs.

The person in charge also helps the team come up with and carry out broad HR initiatives and strategies.

The person in this job is part of the Group HR Team and helps with the different HR tasks listed below.

FUNCTIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Determine staffing needs
  • Develop and use hiring and selection strategies to meet the needs of the organization
  • Coordinate the process of hiring permanent, contract, and temporary workers by making or making sure that job descriptions are made, posting ads, etc.
  • Coordinate the process of hiring permanent, contract, and temporary staff by screening CVs, and setting up aptitude tests, job interviews, and other tests according to the hiring procedure or policy.
  • All new hires should go through pre-employment steps like background and reference checks, medical screenings, security checks, etc.
  • Find, hire, and keep a pool of temporary workers for deployment
  • Assign temporary workers to projects and keep track of their information.
  • Let go of temporary workers based on what the project needs.
  • Make sure new employees give you the personal information you need and fill out the new employee pack.
  • Create new hires in the HR management system, making sure the paperwork is correct and complete.
  • Then, Coordinate and tell employees when they are being moved or reassigned to different places or project sites.
  • Check on and renew contracts that are already in place. Contracts that are no longer valid should be ended.
  • Also, Coordinate the process of an employee leaving, making sure that all procedures are followed for handing over tasks and company property and removing the employee from the payroll and HR database of current employees.
  • Ensure exit interviews/questionnaires are conducted
  • Moreover, Keep and organize the files of all former employees.
  • Help the HR team create and run HR programs, events, and initiatives to get employees involved and promote company policies and core values.
  • Help the HR team create and keep up-to-date documentation for ISO and make sure it meets ISO standards.

Skills or Experience Needed

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in human resource management and proven experience in hiring and firing.
  • At least three years of experience overseeing all parts of the hiring process.
  • Having a professional certification in managing human resources is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Understanding of how HR works (Work force planning, Recruitment & Selection)
  • Understanding the laws and rules about work
  • Organizational culture, organizational development, and diversity knowledge
