How to Find Friends’ Birthdays on Facebook
Social media platforms like Facebook have been a great medium by which family and friends stay connected. The app also relieves us of the hassle of keeping the birthdays of friends, colleagues, and family in mind.
Facebook reminds you of friends celebrating their birthday in the day and also upcoming birthday celebrations in the month. However, you should note that, if a friend has hidden or not made that information public, Facebook will not notify you of their birthdays. You can also hide or limit those that can see your birthday.
FINDING THE BIRTHDAYS OF YOUR FACEBOOK FRIENDS.
You can find the birthdays of your friends on both the desktop and mobile versions of the app.
1 . FINDING BIRTHDAYS ON THE DESKTOP.
- Visit the Facebook website www.facebook.com and log into your account.
- Click the Events options on the left sidebars
- Then click on birthdays to see the upcoming birthdays of your friends from the months ahead.
2 . ON THE MOBILE APP
- Open the Facebook app and sign in with your details.
- Tap the search or magnifying glass button at the top right.
- Enter birthdays into the search bar and select the upcoming birthdays. A list of your friends will appear. The birthday page can give you the birthdays of all your friends in a year.
- Now you can tap on a particular profile to wish the person a happy birthday.
HOW TO GET BIRTHDAY NOTIFICATIONS FROM FACEBOOK.
By default, the birthday notification is enabled by Facebook, but there are times you may not be receiving the alert of your friend’s birthday. To ensure that your notification has been enabled,
- Click on the menu and tap on your Facebook app.
- Scroll down then select Settings and privacy.
- Select the notification option under preferences.
- Select birthdays and turn on the switch next to the “Allow Notifications on Facebook”.
- To receive push notifications on your device, simply activate the “Push” switch.
- You can opt to receive notifications for upcoming birthdays and belated birthdays.
