How to Find Contacts on Instagram
If you are a newbie on Instagram, you may be wondering where to start. Instagram is happy to help you make connections and stay connected to people you know. You can find people in different ways. Among them, we will teach you how to find your contacts on Instagram. It is nice getting in touch with people you already know, especially if you are new to the app.
This article will serve you the help you need in connecting with friends and family before acquaintances.
SYNCING YOUR CONTACT LIST
To get connected to people you know on this newfound app, you will need to sync your contacts. Instagram can connect you with the contacts stored on your phone. Once you activate this feature, your contacts are periodically synced with Instagram’s servers. Instagram does not follow or connect anyone on your behalf.
You are free to disconnect your contacts at any time so Instagram cannot access them. To connect with your contacts, follow these steps:
- Go to your Instagram profile page.
- Tap the Contacts link.
- Instagram tells you it will find people you know. You are given the option to follow them or not (your decision to make).
- Tap Connect Contacts if you want to stay connected.
- Instagram as if they can access your contacts. You can either grant or deny them access.
TO ALLOW ACCESS
- A pop-up appears asking you to allow Instagram access to your Contacts. This is your last chance to cancel your decision to allow Instagram to access your contacts.
- Tap OK.
- The Contacts appear. Feel free to follow as many contacts as you like.
If you change your mind and want to deny Instagram access to your contacts. Just tap the wheel icon on your profile page. Scroll down to Settings, then tap Contacts. Tap the Connect Contacts toggle. This will return it to white, which terminates Instagram’s access to your contact.
