Purpose and Vision
Founded in 1978, these esteemed scholarships are designed to assist in the education and training of:
- Persons engaged in Hong Kong’s agriculture, marketing of agricultural products, marine fisheries, or the sale of fish, along with their family members and dependents;
- Students aiming to enter these fields and aid in their progress.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Possess the right of abode in Hong Kong or have lawfully lived in Hong Kong continuously for three complete years right before their course starts.
- Be registered as a full-time student in an accredited undergraduate or sub-degree program at:
- A regional organization included in the Tertiary Student Finance Scheme – Government-funded Initiatives, or
- A recognized foreign university.
- Note: Those registered for second bachelor’s degrees, postgraduate courses, or research programs do not qualify.
Candidates are required to fulfill at least one of the following conditions:
- Engage in Hong Kong’s agriculture/marine sectors (or be dependents/family members of someone involved), undertaking sanctioned academic disciplines;
- Become students aiming to enter these sectors and sign up for courses sanctioned by the Fund’s Trustee.

Timeline for Application
The process for applying for undergraduate scholarships at the University of Dundee for the 2026 intake starts with the initial deadline of 30 July 2025 for the Jainti Dass Saggar Memorial Scholarship, followed by the Alumni and GEMS Scholarships, which close on 31 July 2025.
Candidates for the Dow Memorial Trust Scholarship in Medicine must apply by August 1, 2025, and for the Dentistry scholarship by September 5, 2025. Most regional scholarships, including the Vice Chancellor’s, Global Excellence, and Global Citizenship Scholarships for September 2025 entry, have a deadline of August 31, 2025.
