Award winning musician, Eugene Marfo popularly known as Kuami Eugene has reacted to nkz Guru’s recent comments saying he (Kuami Eugene) does not deserve the “artiste of the year” award.
Kuami Eugene, after being crowned as the “Artiste of the Year” in the just ended VGMAs, has since recieved lots of reactions from the public and fellow celebrities. Musician Guru wasn’t an exception of the celebrities that reacted.
In Guru’s reaction, he believed that the Lynx Entertainment signee did not deserve the “Artiste of the Year” Award. In one of his posts on twitter, he wondered why an artiste with just two hit songs in the year under review was crowned “Artiste of the Year” but 10 hit songs in a year did not win anything.
He added that the VGMA award scheme is not credible enough.
In an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz Fm, when asked about what he thinks about Guru’s assertion, Kuami Eugene said that Guru has every right to express his opinion.
Kuami Eugene stated that it is normal for people to criticize his win because Ghanaians are opinionated so with that, he gets where Guru is coming from.
The “Open Gate” hitmaker indicated that some people would have expressed the same opinion if Sarkodie or Kofi Kinaata won so it’s normal.
He revealed that despite his opinions, he holds no grudges against Guru and he is a big fan of him as well and in case there is a chance for a collaboration, he will gladly do it.
