Gordon Henderson Scholarships at the University of Ottawa, Canada

Applications are invited from qualified students who wish to study at Ottawa Canadian University. This scholarship program is for candidates in postgraduate courses. All other Nationalities qualify for the scholarship and it is worth CAD $42,000.

The Gordon F. Henderson Postdoctoral Scholarship is offered to a researcher with a promising and innovative research project. The project is mandated to fall in the Human Rights Research and Education Centre at the University of Ottawa. The program is funded by the university.

Criteria/ Requirements

Applicants are to meet the following criteria:

• to begin with, candidates must agree to work at The Human Rights Research and Education Centre (HRREC) for the period of the scholarship.
• Secondly, applicants must agree to contribute to the development and activities of the HRC
• In addition to that, candidates must start a new research program. However, the project must not be the same as his or her previous one.
• Also, candidates must have obtained a doctoral degree not more than five years prior to December 31st, 2022.
• Afterward, applicants must present their thesis by April 30, 2022.

However, candidates who have obtained their doctorate from the University of Ottawa or through a joint degree program with the University of Ottawa are not eligible.

• Also, applicants must attach a five-page summary of their doctoral thesis
• Subsequently, applicants must include the written comments from the thesis examination committee
• Lastly, candidates must submit a five-page research proposal describing the postdoctoral project, its objectives, as well as aims.
