Good News! Express Entry 2024 | BCPNP, Quebec PNP, AAIP

British Columbia, Alberta, and Quebec have released additional provincial nominations in the most recent round of invites, demonstrating Canada’s continued commitment to drawing in skilled individuals and meeting regional labor market demands. These nominations are an essential component of Canada’s immigration policy since they give provinces the ability to choose applicants who satisfy certain demographic, local, and economic criteria.

The provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, and Quebec have extended invitations to prospective immigrants to file for nomination or selection this week. Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) are used by all Canadian provinces and territories except for Nunavut and Quebec. Immigration is an area of shared accountability for the federal, state, and local governments.

PNPs give participating Province and territory governments the chance to hire skilled immigrants who they feel are most qualified to help their area achieve two objectives:

Mitigating the Region’s most prominent demographic challenges

Note: Due to a provincial-federal agreement allowing Quebec to retain control over local economic immigration, the province does not run a PNP in Canada.

Apart from the aforementioned draw, British Columbia extended invitations in other draws that catered to applicants belonging to other occupational categories. All applicants from the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams, including the EEBC option of the BCPNP, were considered for an invitation through the following drawings:

  • 11 invitations were sent out to candidates in the childcare occupations. Everyone who received an invitation had to score at least 93.
  • 11 invites were sent to candidates seeking jobs in construction. Everyone who received an invitation had to score at least 93.
  • 9 invitations were sent to candidates in the healthcare industry. Everyone who received an invitation had to score at least 100.
  • Less than 5 invitations were sent out in total to candidates in the veterinary care field. Everyone who received an invitation had to score at least 80.

Quebec PNP

The outcomes of the draw that was held in Quebec on April 25 have been made public. The Province releases its draw results retrospectively, just like Alberta does. For this draw, the date of extraction from the Arrima Bank was April 22, 2024, three days before the draw. Quebec invited 1,415 applicants for permanent selection in this round.

To be invited to this draw, contestants had to fulfill the following requirements:

  • An oral French proficiency level that received a level seven or higher on the Échelle Quebecoise des niveaux de competency en francais, Quebec’s French proficiency level scale for adult immigrants, or an equivalent
  • A result that is 598 points or higher

The Québec government also observed that invitations were sent to candidates who possessed

Alberta PNP

Only two Canadian provinces—Alberta and Manitoba—release their provincial immigration draw results backward. This week, the outcomes of a provincial draw held on May 1, 2024, were made public by the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP).

40 Notification of Interest (NOI) letters were sent by Alberta to applicants in the province’s specific healthcare pathway under the Alberta job offer category on May 1st. Everybody who received an invitation during this AAIP draw had a CRS score of at least 305.

British Columbia, Alberta, and Quebec’s recent provincial nominations highlight the significance of customized immigration programs in meeting regional labor market demands and promoting economic growth. Canada’s larger immigration goals are strengthened as these provinces continue to draw in qualified workers from throughout the globe, resulting in a vibrant and diversified National Workforce.

These local projects demonstrate how the federal and local governments work together to implement smart immigration laws to achieve both short- and long-term economic objectives.
