Ghanaians on Twitter took Nigerian Dele Momodu to the cleaners when he made a disparaging remark about Ghana on Twitter.
On Monday evening, when Ghanaians were waiting with bated breaths for the electoral results on the December 7 polls, Dele Momodu blurted out on Twitter, tweeting: “Lights are going off in many parts of Ghana, from reports…”
This statement sent a section of Ghanaians going bonkers thereby attacking Momodu, who is the publisher of Ovation Magazine.
Whilst some expressed disappointment in him, others tagged him as a peddler of fake news, who has been deriding Ghana on social media.
The last straw that broke the camel’s back was when Prampram Fisherman, who tweets @Anny Osabutey, addressed Dele as ‘sir’ when he responded to Dele arguing: “That is not true, sir. Which reports?
Aggrieved Vanleo1 expressed worry why the Nigerian should be addressed as sir.
He tweeted: “you even added ‘sir’. Kai!!!”
Going bonkers on Dele Momodu was Kwame Osei Simply, who derided the Nigeria saying: “You’re a grown man… respect yourself.”
Others described Dele Momodu
As a personality who has been churning unsubstantiated claims about Ghana.
A tweet by the name Proud to be Ghanaian said: “That is how this Nigerian dey behave here oo. He should go back to his hometown and stop this stuff.”
Another tweet describes Dele as being so childish… “Who sends him to give such stupid report if he’s not we to cause chaos? Send him out of Ghana.”
In a thrilling response by Paa Qwecy, who tweets @Benkevins, he told Mr. Momodu: “This is disgraceful Sir, we have lights as far as a majority of the country is concerned. We voted in peace and we are counting in peace. Kindly stick to your NEPA Power Cuts, END SARS, and interviewing BBNaija contestants. Thank you.
