Its been seen in reports going viral on social media that a young man displaying himself as a United Nations (UN) Representative has presented some awards to certain top personalities in Ghana.
Certain verifications made by some people and social media fans has it alleged that the award scheme is not credible. Also, the Ghanaian claiming to be coming from the United Nations (UN) representing them is a fraud.
Recall that during the weekends, reports went viral that some Ghanaian celebrities were awarded for their hard work and contribution to their various divisions and industries.
Photos and videos of the said event viral on social media with many media outlets reporting on the programme.
Celebrities like Sarkodie, D-Black, Berla Mundi, certain chiefs and Vice-chancellors were surly awarded that day.
In order to share their success to their fans and loved ones, the celebrities made related posts on their social media handles.
For instance, Sarkodie made a post attached to a photograph of him holding what looked like a golden vase and captioned;
“A great honor to receive the 7th Global Leadership Service to Humanity award … RIP To a great son of the Land Mr. Kofi Annan … Your legacy is still alive”
His award as well as the others drew lots of reactions from Ghanaians.
The celebrities involved received a lot of plaudits for the recognition and was accorded a lot of respect for attracting such a prestigious award.
However, the award scheme has however been alleged to be a scam and has led to some celebrities like D-Black and Berla Mundi to deleting the posts they made as they posed with the awards.
The young man who is said to have brought the award is a nobody and has been regarded by many as an underground rapper.
He was seen in photos and videos handing citations to awardees of the alleged award scheme.
The man has been called by many as a fraud after it was reported that the United Nations (UN) issued a report saying they did not know him.
