Company Description
The Ghana Statistical Service has always followed the law and done what it is supposed to do to help people, organizations, development partners, and the government. The Statistical Service Law, 1985, has been replaced by the Statistical Service Act, 2019 (Act 1003). This is because of the need to update the legal framework to reflect changes in statistics around the world.
The New Law sets up the Ghana Statistical Service as the central institution for producing and coordinating statistics for the National Statistical System and to strengthen the production of quality, relevant, accurate, and timely statistical information for the purpose of national development.
Responsibilities
- Tell people who will be interviewed about the goals of surveys and how they work.
- Translate interview questions so that people can understand them and give good answers.
- Help people fill out survey forms and explain what each question means.
- Check the information on survey forms or information pads twice to make sure it is correct. Look for and report any problems that come up while trying to get valid data.
- Compile, record, and code information from certain forms into a database that has already been set up.
- Make sure the boss knows what has been done and how things are going.
- Check the accuracy of the information by talking to each family member directly.
Requirements
- A diploma from high school or something like it.
- Have an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field. Courses like statistics, research methods, data collection and analysis, and data analysis are all useful.
