The Ministry of Interior is hereby granted financial clearance to enable the Inspector-General of the Ghana Police Service engage five thousand (5,000) personnel to deal effectively and adequately with the issues of combating existing and emerging crimes and protect the citizenry.
The emoluments of the personnel should be charged against the Compensation of Employees vote of the Ghana Police Service under the Ministry of the Interior in the 2021 and subsequent Annual Estimates.
The Inspector-General of the Ghana Police Service is to ensure that the personnel have their documents processed in time and placed on the Mechanized Payroll early enough to enable the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department effect payment of their salaries.
The effective date of the appointed personnel should not be earlier than 1st August, 2021.
By a copy of this letter, the Controller and Accountant-General is requested to effect the payment of their salaries and make appropriate deductions of Social Security and Income Tax to SSNIT and the Domestic Tax Division of Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) respectively.
Please note that the financial clearance expires on the end of 31 December, 2021 and cannot be used thereafter.
