General Manager

Scope

The General Manager leads and builds the organization; shapes the work environment, sets strategies, allocate resources, oversees operations, delegate responsibilities and collaborate across a wide range of departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic plans for optimized productivity
  • Review and improve organizational effectiveness by developing processes, overseeing employees, establishing a highly motivated work environment, and creating innovative approaches for improvement.
  • Uphold standards of excellence and soaring quality
  • Seek out opportunities for expansion and growth by developing new business relationships
  • Provide guidance and feedback to help strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas of employees
  • Develop and execute the company’s business strategies in order to attain goals.
  • Develop, implement and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes that provide visibility into goals, progress and obstacles for key initiatives
  • ​Plan, monitor and analyze key metrics for the day-to-day performance of departments to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor degree in Business Administration or a related field
  • A Masters’ degree in Business or Master of Business Administration (MBA) is an advantage.
  • Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in Executive / Managerial roles.
  • Strong corporate governance awareness and experience reporting to and engaging with boards of directors & shareholders.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic business plans.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to excel in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

Key Skills/Competencies

  • Proven ability to develop and maintain financial plans
  • Ability to motivate and lead people, and hold employees accountable
  • Strong working knowledge of operational procedures
  • Ability to manage confidential information effectively.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be computer literate with advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Windows
