POSITION: Senior Services Project Manager

Summary of Job Description 

The SSA Gas Power Senior Services Project Manager will oversee intricate after-market projects that involve enhancements on diverse equipment such as Industrial Heavy-Duty Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines, Generators, Heat Recovery Steam Generators, and/or balance-of-plant systems. The Project Manager will be responsible for delivering projects according to Contract specifications, budget, quality, and EHS requirements, all while ensuring Customer Satisfaction. These initiatives demand expertise in managing stakeholders, intricate planning and coordination, leadership, and contract oversight, which includes subcontractors and partners.

Key Duties

• Act as the GE Vernova liaison and main contact for the client throughout the project, managing the client relationship during the project’s life and facilitating the resolution of customer issues.
• Manage project execution, involving cross-departmental collaboration in engineering, procurement, shipping logistics, field/outage work, and performance validation.
• Deliver project leadership by efficiently managing and guiding cross-functional GE Vernova teams to guarantee timely delivery, contract requirements fulfillment, and margin achievement/improvement.
• Oversee primary stakeholders and external subcontractors.
• Comprehend and apply Contract Terms and Conditions.
• Oversee project finances: pricing, expenses, predictions, profit margin, billing, and accounts receivable, handle project risks/improvements, and engage in Margin Reviews.
• Manage project timeline; collaborate with Project Planner/Scheduler on the development and oversight of the schedule.
• Actively recognize, handle, and reduce project risks during the entire project lifecycle. Raise risks and problems as necessary for resolution.
• Proactively oversee project alterations with the Customer and project team, adhering to the change management procedure.
• Sustain the Project Management system with updated scope, timeline, budget, risks, etc. Keep project documentation current.
• Deliver project status updates and conduct Project Reviews as needed.
• Document and share project best practices/ lessons learned and instances of Cost-of-Poor Quality.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from a recognized college or university.
• At least 8 years of applicable experience in the Power Generation/Oil & Energy sector.
• Achieve Gas Power Services PMO Project Manager Qualification within 21 months of starting the role, which involves completing training, passing a review board, and acquiring the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or its equivalent.
• Sustain PMO Project Manager Qualification status by participating in continuous training and recertification as necessary.
• Capability and readiness to travel

• Fluency in French is an advantage.

• Self-assured but modest. Skill to diplomatically inquire in order to foster clarity and openness regarding projects.
• Outstanding planning and organizational abilities.
• Skill in efficiently handling multiple projects concurrently while multitasking.
• Capacity to swiftly react to and handle project adjustments.
• Driven to organize and guide the team while overseeing project management.
• Desire to learn about PM processes and tools, along with updates on CM&U products and technology.
• Capacity to establish achievable goals, evaluate circumstances precisely, identify risks and challenges, and work together with GE Vernova internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to develop mutually beneficial solutions.
