The scholarship has been categorized into three, namely;

- COLLEGE-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS
1 . FINANCIAL-NEED-BASED UNIVERSITY-WIDE SCHOLARSHIPS
The Purdue Division of Financial Help handles need-based help from the federal government, states, and Purdue. For these scholarships and funds to be considered, you must send in a FAFSA by April 15, which is the University’s priority filing date. From October 1, you can fill out the FAFSA.
See below for important notes.
2 . UNIVERSITY-WIDE MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS
Freshman merit awards are given out after all of the information on the application for admission is looked at as a whole. These things are taken into account:
- Grades in your main academic classes and the strength of your high school curriculum (in terms of the courses your school offers).
- Grades in courses that are important for you to succeed in your chosen major
- Application writing and questions about Purdue
- Score on the SAT or ACT
- Recommendation (if one is given)
- Proof that you are interested in the academic subject you applied for
- Proof of leadership, service, and other achievements, as well as events and awards
- Background and memories of the person
- Information that your high school gives
3 . COLLEGE-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS
Many Purdue schools give merit- and need-based scholarships to students who are accepted into their programs. Things to think about:
- Send Purdue West Lafayette a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by December 15.
- Some Purdue schools also use the Supplemental Scholarship Application to find people who meet very specific requirements for awards. Education, Health and Human Sciences, and the Polytechnic Institute are all colleges. This application is now open through the Purdue application portal and must be finished by December 15.

Scholarship Requirement
To get a Purdue scholarship and keep it, winners must:
- Start school during the year for which the aid was given.
- Stay enrolled at Purdue.
- Meet or exceed the requirements for each grant to be renewed
- Stay in the Purdue college or school to which they were admitted until the end of the third week of the fall term.
Kindly note that there is a lot of competition for Purdue grants. Each year, about 15% of applicants get a merit award. Awards are based on the qualifications and information you give when you apply for admission, and you can’t change that. Purdue does not match offers from other schools, and requests for merit aid are not taken into account.
