Five Canadian provinces published their provincial draw outcomes

Five Canadian provinces, including Manitoba, British Columbia, Quebec, Ontario, and Prince Edward Island, have released their provincial draw results. Over the last two weeks, all provinces (save one) sent out invitations through their Provincial Nominee Programmes. Quebec also issued invitations using its own provincial immigration procedure. This province has hosted two invitation rounds from February 17th.

PNPs give provincial governments the opportunity to pick qualified persons who can contribute economically to their regions. These immigrants help the provinces meet their labour and demographic needs.

Five Canadian provinces revealed provincial draw outcomes from February 17 to March 1.

Ontario

On March 1, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Programme delivered 2,583 NOIs to individuals eligible for the Skilled Trades Stream of Ontario’s PNP. The March 1 draw focuses on candidates from specific skilled trades occupations. Candidates who earned a Notification of Interest in Ontario on March 1 had CRS scores ranging from 350 to 424.

British Columbia published the provincial draw results.

British Columbia has held several draws since February 16 of this year. On February 21, the British Columbia PNP conducted a general draw as well as a few occupational category lotteries. These drawings were place under the Skilled Worker International Graduate stream, specifically the EEBC option. The BCPNP draw results for February 21 are listed below:

  • Candidates for the veterinary care occupation received the five invitations listed below, each worth 60 points.

Draw held on February 27, 2024.

On February 27, the BCPNP distributed invitations to Skilled Worker candidates in the International Graduate Stream through a new draw. This draw yielded the following results:

  • Childcare vocations received 45 invitations; the minimum score was 65.
  • Construction jobs received 12 invitations; the minimum score was 80.
  • Healthcare occupations received 41 invitations; the minimum score was 65.
  • Technical vocations – 90 invites; the minimum score was 108.
  • Veterinary care vocations – fewer than five invitations; the minimal score was 65.

Quebec

Quebec announced the results of two draws held under its distinct provincial immigration programme. The first draw was held on February 8, and the second on February 22.

Each draw sent invites to a distinct set of candidates depending on their own eligibility requirements. Notably, Quebec does not operate through a PNP and instead has its own provincial programme with specific qualifying standards. The province has a unique relationship with IRCC that allows it entire control in selecting economic immigration candidates.

In addition, candidates had to meet with the following requirements to receive an invitation in this draw:

  • Show a score of 7 in oral French language competence according to the Échelle québécoise des niveaux de compétence en français (or its equivalent).
  • Have a score of 613 or more points.
  • Holding a genuine employment offer in CMA territory.

Date: February 22

The results of the draw that took place on February 8 were revealed by the province on February 22. The draw that took place on February 19 was also announced. An additional 1,007 applicants were invited to submit their applications for permanent selection through the lottery. This applicant group needed to have a score of at least 608 points in order to be asked to participate in this draw. In addition, in order for candidates to be invited to participate in this draw, they were required to qualify according to the following criteria:

  • French language skills in Oral competency at level 7. This aligns with the Quebec scale for an adult immigrant’s French language ability.
  • Holding a genuine employment offer in CMA territory.

A candidate is now qualified to submit an application for a Quebec Selection Certificate if they attended any of the drawings that were described before and received an invitation to participate. Before submitting an application for permanent residence with the IRCC, they are required to complete this stage.

Manitoba

In addition to announcing additional efforts to aid Ukraine, the province of Manitoba announced on February 28 that it had provided updated results for the most recent PNP draw. As part of the provincial government’s response to the ongoing situation in Ukraine, the Manitoba Provincial Police (PNP) was able to issue 155 Letters of Advice to candidates thanks to this one-of-a-kind programme for Ukrainians. This was in keeping with the IRCCC’s specific initiatives for persons who have been affected by the situation.

Prince Edward Island

Since October of the previous year, the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Programme (PNP) has issued a total of 24 invitations to candidates. This is the province’s smallest PNP draw, based on invitations from the Labour and Express Entry programmes. Candidates from the construction and healthcare industries were included in this population. Since November 2023, this is the first time that Prince Edward Island has conducted three PNP draws in a single month.
