About the Role
As Financial Control and Reconciliation Manager, you will act as the custodian of data accuracy across N26’s core banking, accounting, and financial reporting systems. Your mandate is to ensure that every transaction flowing through the Core Banking System is correctly reflected in enterprise accounting platforms and external reports.
You will lead the evolution from manual reconciliations to a highly automated, scalable control environment and serve as a critical bridge between Finance, Data Engineering, and Technology teams. This role plays a key part in product launches, regulatory readiness, and audit resilience within a fast-growing FinTech environment.

Responsibilities
- Design and manage reconciliation frameworks between core banking systems, ERP platforms, and reporting tools
- Lead automation initiatives to replace manual reconciliation and control processes
- Act as a liaison between Finance and Data Engineering to embed accounting logic into data pipelines
- Define accounting flows and control points for new financial products prior to launch
- Develop and maintain audit-ready documentation for all reconciliation processes
- Monitor compliance with internal control systems and regulatory requirements
- Identify control risks and implement sustainable mitigation strategies
- Support audit, regulatory, and senior stakeholder engagements
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in financial control, audit, or finance operations within banking or FinTech
- Strong understanding of transaction-to-ledger data flows (CBS to ERP)
- Experience with ERP and reconciliation tools such as Workday, BlackLine, ReconArt, or similar
- Working knowledge of data tools such as SQL, ETL processes, or BI platforms
- Proven expertise in internal control systems and complex financial products
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Informatics, or related field
- Professional certifications (CPA, CIA, CISA) are advantageous
- Full professional fluency in English
