Ideal candidates should have a passion for food and agriculture and excellent writing skills.
Experience in evaluating and drafting responses to tenders, RFPs or grant applications from target clients such as government agencies, multilaterals, foundations, NGOs, private equity and corporate clients in Ghana and the West African region is also important.
Previous experience in a management consultancy, investment banking or private equity firm would be a distinct advantage.
Reporting to and working closely with the Regional Director, it is expected the successful appointee will possess the following experience and qualifications –
Key Requirements:
- Skills to prepare and draft application/bid responses (technical and financial proposals) to the highest international standards
- Good knowledge and understanding of the food and agriculture landscape in the country, region and continent
- Ability to identify, evaluate and select suitable grants and tenders for response and submission
- Potential to identify key people in our target markets and sectors and develop engagement strategies
- Competence to build relationships and partnerships with identified targets
- Hold existing relationships with key actors in the food and agriculture sector
- Work / support delivery of client projects when required
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years proven experience in a similar role
- University degree – MSc Development Finance, MBA Finance/Project Management, MSc Agribusiness would be of particular benefit
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are essential
- Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship building
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills
- Good working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Commitment to professional excellence
- The ability to develop good working relationships is critical; and ability to effectively balance a number of tasks, work to deadlines, and produce quality deliverables.
- Experience and expertise in the following industry sectors will be of specific interest: agriculture, food and beverage.
