Job Purpose and Organizational Context
The UNDP Ghana focuses on development in three key areas: environment and climate change, inclusive development, and governance. One of its projects is the Environmentally Sustainable Production Practices in Cocoa Landscapes, Phase IV (ESP IV), which operates in the Ahafo and Western regions. This project aims to restore forest cover in degraded areas, benefit cocoa communities, and enhance forest management capacity.
We are seeking a qualified and reliable driver to support transportation needs for the ESP IV project. The driver will provide safe driving services for project personnel, demonstrate professionalism, and work effectively with diverse individuals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide reliable driving services for authorized personnel, observing traffic regulations.
- Maintain daily vehicle logs for cost-saving and prepare maintenance plans.
- Perform day-to-day maintenance of the vehicle, including minor repairs and timely servicing.
- Ensure availability of required vehicle documents and first aid supplies.
- Take immediate actions as per regulations in case of an accident.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:Â
- Minimum. Educational prerequisites
- Achievement of Secondary Education Completion
- Legitimate Ghanaian Driver’s permit
Experience:Â
- At least 2 years of driving experience in an international entity, NGO, government agency, embassy, or UN system within Ghana.
- Extra work experience is regarded as a benefit.
Required skills
- Understanding the driving laws and regulations of Ghana.
- Proficient and knowledgeable in small vehicle repairs.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities, along with the capability to work solo and efficiently manage time.
Desired skillsÂ
- Pristine driving records without significant traffic offenses or incidents.
- Knowledge of GPS navigation and electronic logging systems.
- Capability to carry out regular vehicle inspections and execute basic maintenance activities, including verifying tire pressure and oil levels.
Necessary Language(s): Expresses ideas clearly in English
