Who we are, and what we do

PEG delivers Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) asset-based financing to consumers who lack both access to reliable electricity and formal banking services.

PEG’s anchor product -a high quality solar home system that includes LED satellite TV, fan, radio, torch, phone charger and lighting – allows consumers living on $5-10 per day to access clean light for working and studying after hours, avoid harmful air pollution from kerosene-based lighting solutions, and also build credit for additional products and services over time.

To date, PEG has raised over $45 million and has over 600 full time staff across Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal, and Mali. PEG has also won numerous awards, including the prestigious 2017 Ashden International Award for excellence in sustainable energy, Energy Access Champion in October 2019, 2019 Advance Award Winner for Sustainability and was named as one of the “fastest-growing companies in Africa” by the London Stock Exchange.

The Position

As a Logistics Manager, you will organize the storage and distribution of PEG goods. In this role you will ensure that the right products are delivered to the right location on time and at a good cost.

You will be involved in transportation, stock control, warehousing and monitoring the flow of goods.

Understanding the whole supply chain is important so that you can coordinate the Logistics of the company effectively.

Good knowledge of customs documentation is necessary.

Responsibilities Includes:

  • Use IT systems to manage stock levels, delivery times and transport costs;
  • Use associated information systems to coordinate and control the order cycle
  • Use data from IT systems to evaluate performance and quality and to plan improvements
  • Allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs
  • Manage staff: coaching, counseling, and disciplining
  • Liaise and negotiate with customers and suppliers
  • Build 3PLs partnerships
  • Develop business by gaining new/better 3PLs contracts, analyzing logistical problems and producing new solutions
  • Optimize costs by preparing an annual departmental budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Manage Warehouse (physical conditions: quality, clean, responsible for products)
  • Supervise the distribution of products to the various Service Centers across country
  • Conduct periodic service center field audits using the approved audit methodology
  • Work on transversal Logistics projects
  • Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Ensure internal controls by conducting monthly inventory stock count and reconciling the physical stock count balances to the system balance system and investigate all variances.
  • Manage Reverse Logistics and provide good customer experience.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in logistic/supply chain
  • A data-driven approach to analyzing and solving Logistics problems. KPI driven
  • Experience in Logistics and Distribution
  • Experience working with a team in a fast paced, startup or FMCG-style environment, at least 4 years minimum experience
  • Exposure to any ERP System & Warehouse Management systems
  • Strong excel skills
  • Ability to work in a team and handle multiple projects
  • Excellent time and task management and ability to work under pressure, whilst prioritizing key tasks
