We are Aya Data, and we provide data labeling services to enterprises with machine learning (ML) projects so that they may train their ML models. Artificial intelligence (AI) learns from visual and written data in the same way that humans do. The more data it interacts with, the more effectively it can do its purpose. However, this data must be properly prepared (labeled) before it can be utilized to train AI.
Job Description
We’re searching for an experienced Business Development professional to drive quick revenue growth at one of Africa’s most interesting AI start-ups. This position will entail personally selling to large global corporations and major African firms, as well as contributing to sales strategy, streamlining processes, and reporting on sales activity.
Candidates should be enthusiastic about AI and its potential, capable of presenting technical products, and skilled at marketing them to global and African companies.
Passion for proactive outreach via phone, email, and LinkedIn is required.
You’ll collaborate directly with the sales leadership team to meet your KPIs, with an emphasis on revenue development and client acquisition. The role will be situated in Ghana, with some travel required.

We already have clients such as Unilever, the UK government, the Tony Blair Institute, and Tidal Music, and we need your help to continue generating and closing an extraordinary pipeline.
Critically, our objective is not only to build and deploy AI solutions but also to develop high-level competence in Africa, which is critical to our impact and allows us to scale as effectively as feasible.
Your Mission
What you will work on:
- Sales Strategy Execution: Implement the full sales strategies developed by the Head of Sales. Identify target markets and client segments to help promote growth.
- Deal origination and closing: Create and close deals. Ensure that all contracts and agreements are in line with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to better understand industry trends, the competitive landscape, and client demands. Utilize insights to improve sales techniques.
- Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain solid relationships with key clients and stakeholders. Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and swiftly resolve any issues.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
- Stay Current on AI Trends: Keep up with advances in AI technology and industry trends. Identify possibilities to improve sales performance.
Required Skill or Experience
- I’ve worked in technical sales for almost three years.
- A thorough understanding of AI technology, data science, machine learning, and software engineering.
- Strong grasp of the business value of AI solutions, as well as the ability to connect products with client business objectives.
- Excellent communicator and collaborator, capable of working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, as well as explaining technical concepts to customers and executives.
- Passionate about artificial intelligence and able to keep up with the rapid growth of technologies and best practices.
- Self-starter who values autonomy appreciates a fast pace, and wants to make a difference.
