Through close collaboration with internal departments, the role ensures that compliance obligations are met accurately and within strict timeframes. The position supports visa pathways, including 186, 482, and 485, for eligible candidates.

Job Duties

As an ESOS Compliance Officer, your responsibilities include the following duties:

  • Ensure full compliance with ESOS Act provisions, including student defaults, refunds, and notifications.
  • Monitor and manage overseas student defaults, including visa refusals and course withdrawals.
  • Oversee refund calculations in line with the ESOS Refund Calculation Instrument 2024.
  • Ensure accurate and timely PRISMS reporting within all legislated deadlines.
  • Maintain the ESOS Compliance Register and detailed compliance documentation.
  • Support internal audits and prepare compliance evidence for ASQA audits and reviews.
  • Deliver ESOS and PRISMS compliance training and guidance to internal staff.
  • Liaise with admissions, finance, student administration teams, and external regulators as required.

Job Requirements

Applicants for this role should meet the following essential requirements:

  • Strong working knowledge of the ESOS Act, National Code, PRISMS, and Tuition Protection Service.
  • Experience in compliance, governance, or administration within a CRICOS or education environment.
  • Solid understanding of overseas student visa conditions and refund obligations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage strict regulatory deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal and external engagement.
Desirable Experience:
  • At least three years of experience using PRISMS as an authorised user.
