GENERAL MANAGER, COMMERCE
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Managing Director, the General Manager Commerce (M Commerce) will provide leadership for the Commerce Division of the Company and would be required to implement strategies that optimise the Company’s commercial operations in a way that facilities high return on investment
Quality Control & Monitoring
Implement established policies and procedures to ensure that products marketed by the Company meet the required market standards
External Stakeholder Relations
Develop and maintain professional working relationships with Regulatory Agencies and other key stakeholders to facilitate the operations of the Company’s commercial activities
Person Specification
A broad wealth of experience in the downstream refining industry. experience in Linear
Programming techniques used for the evaluation of terms of contract for crude oil, spot chide purchase, production planning, scheduling and supply chain optimisation Ability to use electronic networks to conduct oil futures trading would be an advantage Prior experience in managing funding and knowledge of the downstream petroleum sector.
The Key responsibilities for the job include Strategy & Policy Development
Lead the development of strategies for the Commerce Division ie: Export and Import
Distribution Monitoring Quality Control and Information Technology.
Participate actively in the formation of the overall corporate plan und monitor implementation to achieve targeted commercial objectives Provide leadership in the development of policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). including monitoring mechanism in all assigned functional areas to ensure effective
implementation in support of the company’s business objectives Lead/Superve the preparation of annual budgets, including capital investment projects and deployment of resources in all departments under the Commerce Division and monitor implementation in a marme that supports the Company’s short, medium and long-term strategies.
DRIVE THE ACHIEVEMENT OF KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Establish key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that are aligned to attaining the Company’s strategy business objectives, including benchmarking in line with industry international best practice Establish performance reporting systems in all functional areas within the Division and monitor to ensure that performance standards are aligned to the company’s strategies and changing conditions, initiating remedial actions to enhance efficiency effectiveness in operations
• Identify new market opportunities while ensuring clients satisfaction
Provide leadership and guidance in the implementation of safety policies in order to promote a strong health and safety culture within the Division

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of an MBA or Masters degree in a commercially-oriented discipline, such as Economics Commerce, Marketing and Finance. Minimum of twelve (12) years’ working experience with at least 5 years in a senior management position
Membership of a professional institution is required

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Knowledge H experience in financial and commercial risk management.
Negotiation skills – particularly in negotiating petroleum sector capital projects, crude oil and other related agreements for petroleum products.
Dealing with financial institutions in arranging
funding for commercial projects Experience with the relevant energy sector agencies in respect of dealing with senior agency .
on commercial issues, as well as participating in downstream oil and gas activities and projects Ability to mitigate capital project proposals to determine feasibility and fitness for purpose. Business development identifying new markets and creating new business
