About Role

The Education and Outreach Officer will contribute to science education and public engagement programmes within the Science Education and Public Engagement Office (SEPE). You will design and deliver educational workshops, develop outreach resources, coordinate events, and strengthen partnerships with schools, researchers, and community stakeholders.

This is a dynamic, campus-based position that combines programme development, stakeholder engagement, communications, and event coordination. Occasional travel within Europe may be required. The contract runs until 31 December 2028, providing long-term stability within an internationally recognised scientific environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver educational workshops and learning resources for young audiences
  • Create and adapt outreach materials tailored to diverse public groups
  • Support logistics and delivery of science education events and regional outreach initiatives
  • Promote SEPE programmes through communication campaigns and strategic partnerships
  • Contribute to reports, publications, and stakeholder documentation
  • Liaise with teachers, researchers, and institutional partners across Europe
  • Organise meetings and maintain stakeholder databases
  • Prepare presentations and coordinate event-related communications

Requirements

  • University degree in life sciences or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in science education, outreach, or communication
  • Experience working with schools and developing educational materials
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in international teams
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Native or near-native German language proficiency
