Job Title: Manager, Quality Assurance

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Manager of Quality Assurance to lead our QA function. This senior role is pivotal in directing the delivery of superior software products and services across the Ecobank Group. You will coordinate all aspects of the quality assurance process, from strategy to execution, ensuring alignment with rigorous business objectives and industry benchmarks. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Job Purpose

As the QA Manager, you will oversee the planning, implementation, and execution of comprehensive testing strategies. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including IT Project Management, Service Management, and Operations—to identify and mitigate risks early in the development lifecycle. Your goal is to ensure robust, reliable solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and drive operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

First, you will develop and implement the overall QA strategy, ensuring it aligns with organizational goals and industry best practices.
You will design, review, and validate detailed test plans and cases derived from complex business requirements.
A core responsibility involves leading the QA team, mentoring members, and championing the adoption of advanced testing methodologies and automation tools.
Furthermore, you will liaise directly with business stakeholders to ensure User Acceptance Testing (UAT) aligns with their needs, assisting in script design and providing clear insights into test outcomes.
You will also establish and maintain robust QA processes throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
Additionally, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing testing processes for greater efficiency and coverage.
You will monitor testing activities, track defects, and provide comprehensive reports to senior management on quality metrics and risk assessment.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

A Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related analytical field.
A minimum of five years of experience within a QA function, including proven experience in business systems analysis or an equivalent role.
Relevant professional certifications: ISTQB Certified Foundation & Test Analyst (Advanced Level), ITIL v4.
Strong experience in test development, implementation, and project management.
Demonstrated ability to manage functional support teams and drive operational excellence.

Highly Desirable:

A postgraduate degree.
Additional certifications: PMP, DevOps Foundation, or Test Automation (e.g., Selenium, Test Complete).
Working knowledge of the ITIL framework.
Fluency or working knowledge of French.
