Derrick Kobina Bonney, better known in showbiz as DKB has announced his intention to withdraw from the comedy industry for some reasons.
According to a post sited on his official Twitter page by Newsnowgh, he is fed up with Ghanaians. He said that he is retiring from comedy because he has had enough of the countless insults, negativity and disrespect from the public. He became quite emotional when he said that he was only trying to entertain people by making them laugh therefore he does not understand why he ends up getting insulted. He stated that he would rather think about his mental health than kill himself just to please ungrateful people. “My mental health is important to me”, he declared. The former Big Brother housemate also stated that the “so called fans” do not show him any form of public love. “I’ve lifted Ghana Comedy, done my part, he bragged.
His post got lots of encouraging reactions from his fans. His fans advised that he continues to stay in the comedy industry as he is too good to quit this early. Other also presumed that the post was just one of his many jokes. “Don’t give up” a fan wrote.
I'm RETIRING from comedy. I'm tired.
Enough of negativity & disrespect, I didn't kill anyone, I just make people laugh, so why the insults in return?
My mental health is important to me.
