    About us

    The Design & Technology Institute (DTI) is a hub for engineering and design practice at Accents & Art Limited (AAL).

    Formally launched in March 2016, the Institute seeks to provide the platform for students from the various universities, polytechnics, technical and vocational institutions gain industry experience by working closely with artisans on a factory floor and supported by experienced instructors.

    Students are further exposed to field/site visits to enable them experience first-hand what transpires in industry.

    This is to help bridge the gap between the school curriculum and world of work. The Institute explores ideas and challenges perceived as boundaries between academic disciplines.

    Job purpose:

    The Project Assistant’s role is to assist with the planning, organization, and management of all DTI projects, as well as any other responsibilities that the Project Manager assigns.

    Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

    • Communicate with stakeholders regarding project needs, issues, work, priorities and goals.
    • Contribute to the planning and development of projects.
    • Coordinate all activities on the project activity schedule to avoid delays.
    • Conduct regular SWOT analysis for the project and its stakeholder engagement plans
    • Carry out research activities to support long term project portfolio planning
    • Perform administrative tasks such as raising requisitions for materials, vehicles and other logistics
    • Prepare preliminary activity and resource estimates when and where required
    • Carry out effective scheduling of all project activities and meetings
    • Prepare project reports keep track of project progress.
    • Perform any other task assigned in an efficient and timely manner.

    Qualification

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management or Social Sciences with a minimum of three years work experience in a similar role.

    Competencies:

    • Proactive and committed to work
    • Ability to develop and explore alternative solutions and to think through a group of issues from beginning to end
    • Ability to develop expertise in areas assigned
    • Team player and ensures things are done
    • Skilled in MS Project software is an advantage
    • Prior experience with Construction projects or related projects is desired
