The finance minister demands immediate Pacific visa-free travel. Did you know that New Zealand, Australia, and Pacific Island State travel is now supported by Finance Minister Professor Beaman Prasad without the need for a visa?
The plan, in the opinion of Professor Beaman Prasad, will encourage the expansion of Fijian and Pacific firms in Australia and New Zealand. Additionally, he thinks it would grow companies in Australia and New Zealand around the Pacific.
Professor Prasad also discussed how to create large corporations to enable them to prosper in a new geo-economic environment. He continued by saying that by forging stronger economic linkages with other regions, the Pacific region hopes to change the notion that it comprises helpless little governments.
He said that the area seeks recognition as a significant oceanic state with a significant stake in the future of humanity. The Finance Minister also emphasized the Pacific’s status as the world’s largest continent and popularly known as the blue continent.
The Australian High Commission’s Charged D’Affaires, Stuart Watts, also stated that the government has been considering visa-free travel for some time.
The Finance Minister also emphasized that there should be no room for separation in the Pacific. In addition, New Zealand and Australia should remain essential components of it.
