Date for the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Exam (BECE) for school applicants
The Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) wishes to inform all Heads of Basic Schools that the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for School Candidates, 2023 will be written from 7th to 11th August, 2023.
By this letter, Regional Directors of Education are requested to communicate this information to Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education to inform all Heads of Basic Schools to take note and prepare the candidates for the examination accordingly.

About Basic Education Certificate Exam (BECE)
In Ghana and Nigeria, the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is the main test that students need to pass to get into secondary and vocational schools.
It is written at the end of the third year of junior high school.
