Condition Monitoring Supervisor at AngloGold Ashanti
AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited’s Obuasi Gold Mine has almost finished redeveloping to become a modern, efficient, and lucrative enterprise. The underground mine is completely mechanized and can mine up to 5,000 t/day.
Our dedicated team needs an experienced and self-motivated Condition Monitoring Supervisor.
Role Purpose and context
- The Condition Monitoring Supervisor coordinates condition monitoring of underground equipment, surface support infrastructure, and the processing plant, including analysis and reporting on vibrations, thermography, oil analysis/diagnosis, laser alignment, pump efficiency/audit, NDT, and technical support for engineering.
- The role holder supervises condition monitoring/NDT technicians and assists Reliability Engineers in developing, implementing, and reviewing equipment maintenance strategies, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) tactics, defect elimination projects, and work management systems to improve equipment reliability and asset integrity using world-class best practices.
Accountabilities:
- Assess and control all task hazards before and throughout execution.
- Report all incidents and complete investigations and corrective actions on time.
- Complete your corrective actions on time.
- Follow site EMP.
- Responsible for team environmental performance.
- Report environmental procedure problems at official team meetings.
- Follow Departmental Manager environmental work procedures.
- Oversee Condition Monitoring and NDT Technicians and help Reliability Engineer in report gathering.
- Audit underground equipment and shafts.
- Review condition monitoring for continual improvement
- Help the Reliability Engineer create Plant equipment condition monitoring routes and tests.
- Schedule CM checks. Visual tests, vibration, infrared, ultrasonic, motor current and flux, and rudimentary NDT data collecting are included.
- Analyze and trend predictive maintenance data (vibration, IR, etc.) to assess plant status and take action.
- Report plant asset physical condition.
- Check preventive and remedial activities.
- Create SAP work requests for maintenance scheduling.
- Collect data on all rotating equipment utilizing modern portable data collectors and other tools according to schedules and plant specifications.
- Diagnose rotating machinery issues by collecting vibration and other data.
Qualification
- Mechanical Engineering diploma or equivalent
- Non-Destructive Testing, Vibration Analysis, and Infrared Thermography Level 1 certifications
Experience
- Six years of mining experience, including 3-5 years in an engineering operating facility.
- Knowledge of Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health Safety and Technical) Regulation
