CLOGSAG to begin nationwide strike from April 21 due to the government’s inability to pay their neutrality allowance.
The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) has revealed its mandate to go on strike beginning, April 21 which is Thursday over the government’s inability to pay them their neutrality allowance.
In a statement, CLOSAG stated that the neutrality allowance was an agreement they had with the government on January 20, 2022.
The association revealed that they have not been sorted out for more than three months regardless of official reminders to the Finance Ministry.
“It was stated that the government has not paid the neutrality allowance as agreed notwithstanding official reminders and follow-ups made to the Economic Planning and Ministry of Finance.”
“The National Executive Council (NEC) advised CLOGSAG to take immediate action to force its demand for the implementation of the MoU,” they said.
CLOGSAG said it has now notified the National Labour Commission, the National Security Minister, Civil Service Council, Local Government Service Council and the Minister for Employment and Labour Relations about the strike.
CLOSAG entreat its regional secretaries to make sure all participants observe the directive.
