Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Vascular Scientist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing requests from clinicians and selecting appropriate tests based on clinical needs.
  • Communicating diagnostic results to clinicians clearly and promptly to ensure effective treatment decisions.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of scientific practices and adhering to the standards of the Society of Vascular Technology.
  • Providing expert advice and support to junior staff within the vascular team.
  • Independently scanning and reporting on various vascular modalities, including carotid and venous examinations.
  • Participating in continuous professional development and attending relevant conferences and training sessions.

Job Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • A relevant science degree alongside a PgCert, PgDip, or MSc in vascular ultrasound.
  • Experience as a trainee vascular scientist and a commitment to continued professional development.
  • Ability to independently scan and report on multiple modalities, including arterial and venous examinations.
  • Knowledge of regulatory practices and experience with audits is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills for effectively conveying complex information to clinicians.
  • Registration as a Clinical Scientist with the HCPC is preferred but not essential.
