About Opportunity

For the Hinkley Point C Project, Jacobs is looking for a Civil Engineer to help with the production and oversight of the nuclear island buildings. The development of technological solutions to assist the project’s delivery and tight collaboration with several stakeholders from diverse disciplines are requirements specific to this role. Principal duties consist of:

  • In charge of ensuring that the designated buildings’ civil design sequence and the relevant dates and milestones are followed.
  • Gather, examine, and confirm that the input data from earlier projects and other fields is consistent.
  • Particular coordination of input data on equipment load, control over load evolution, and possible influence on design.
  • Operational management of a team within this service involves keeping an eye on workload and allocating responsibilities to team members according to their qualifications, with support from the civil group lead as needed.
  • Provide deliverables for which they are responsible, and make sure they adhere to the right protocol and are presented to the appropriate approval levels.
  • Examine the models, schematics, and design notes for civil engineering technically.
  • Arrange and lead status meetings or take part in stakeholder maturity and gate evaluations.
  • Manage the Design Risk Register and take part in CDM reviews.
  • Oversee the many stakeholders participating in the engineering design process.
  • Recognize potential technical weaknesses or contractual problems and send alerts.
  • Coordinating the project’s needs in terms of budget, schedule, and quality as specified by the building manager.
