Position: Regional Logistics Officer 

Chemonics Ghana is seeking a Regional Logistics Officer to provide critical technical support to the Regional Health Administration (RHA). This role involves organizing, coordinating, and facilitating the implementation of key health commodity supply chain activities at the regional level. You will collaborate closely with the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Ministry of Health Headquarters, and Implementing Partners to strengthen logistics systems and ensure the availability of essential medicines.

Job Description and Core Responsibilities

Your primary focus will be on supporting the regional implementation of prioritized supply chain interventions to enhance efficiency and data-driven decision-making.

  • Support the RHA in implementing the Ghana Integrated Logistics Management Information System (GhiLMIS), including onboarding and training health professionals at the community level.
  • Provide technical assistance for effective inventory management of public health commodities, including TB, HIV, Malaria, and Family Planning products.
  • Support Regional Medical Stores (RMS) in processing facility orders via GhiLMIS and executing the Last Mile Distribution (LMD) mechanism.
  • Conduct cycle counts and data quality audits to ensure accuracy between physical stock and system records.
  • Generate, analyze, and disseminate crucial GhiLMIS reports to support operational decisions by regional and central-level stakeholders.
  • Provide remote and on-the-job functional support to GhiLMIS end users to promote consistent system utilization.
  • Facilitate and provide technical support for the regional supply chain coordinating committee meetings.
  • Monitor the implementation of the standardized Last Mile Distribution framework and provide targeted supportive supervision to districts and health facilities.
  • Participate in forecasting, supply planning, and procurement planning activities for health commodities.
  • Ensure logistics management is prioritized within regional work plans and budgets.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
  • Possess a minimum of five years of professional experience in supply chain management, including order management, inventory control, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Demonstrate strong data analysis, reporting, and presentation skills with a good understanding of Ghana’s public health supply chain.
  • Exhibit excellent communication, diplomatic, and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead meetings effectively.
  • Be resourceful, a team player, and able to work independently under pressure while supporting new technologies.
  • Must have a strong command of the English language.

Location: This position is based in Sunyani, within the Bono Region.
