Central Microfinance Invites Job Applications
POSITION: Loan Officer
Are you ready to put your financial expertise to work in a role that truly matters? Do you have a sharp eye for risk and a genuine desire to help clients achieve their goals? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are looking for a dedicated Loan Officer to join our team and take ownership of the entire lending lifecycle.
This is not just a desk job. You will interact with real people, assess real businesses, and make real decisions that impact lives. You will manage loan portfolios, build lasting client relationships, and ensure every step of the process aligns with banking guidelines and policies. If you thrive on responsibility and enjoy a mix of analysis and client interaction, this role fits you perfectly.
Key Responsibilities
You will serve as the gatekeeper of our lending operations. You will evaluate applications, identify potential risks, and recommend the best path forward. At the same time, you will build strong relationships with clients to grow our loan portfolio sustainably.
Your day to day responsibilities will include:
- Appraising Credit Applications: You will review each loan application carefully, identifying risks and opportunities. You will then make clear, well reasoned recommendations.
- Ensuring Compliance: You will verify that every loan meets banking guidelines and internal policies. You will protect the institution while serving the client.
- Managing the Full Loan Process: You will oversee the entire lending journey from application to disbursement and ongoing monitoring. You will ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
- Building Client Relationships: You will connect with clients to understand their needs and goals. You will grow the loan portfolio by fostering trust and delivering excellent service.
- Preparing Accurate Reports: You will compile and submit regular management and credit reports. Your reports will be accurate, timely, and actionable.
- Conducting Field Visits: You will go beyond the office to conduct client appraisals and monitoring visits. You will see businesses firsthand and assess them in their real environment.
Qualification and Experience
You combine strong analytical skills with a customer focused mindset. Also, you understand that numbers tell a story, and you know how to read between the lines. You also understand that every client interaction builds or erodes trust.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Relevant Education: A Bachelor’s Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Banking, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- Proven Experience: Two to five years in a similar role, whether in loan appraisal, banking, or credit management. You know the ropes and you are ready to take on more.
- Strong Analytical Skills: You can dive into financial data, spot trends, and identify risks quickly. Numerical analysis comes naturally to you.
- Excellent Customer Service: You treat clients with respect and empathy. You listen to their needs and guide them through the process with clarity.
- Technical Proficiency: You are comfortable with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
- Portfolio Management Ability: You have a proven track record of creating and maintaining a high quality, growing loan portfolio. You balance growth with risk management effectively.
- Physical Readiness: You are willing and able to conduct field visits for client appraisal and monitoring. You understand that some assessments require a firsthand look.
Why This Role Matters
Every loan you approve can help a small business expand, a farmer buy better equipment, or a family build a home. Every risk you identify protects the institution and ensures we can continue serving others. Your work has direct, tangible impact on both our clients and our organization.
You will not just process paperwork. Also, you will make decisions that matter. You will build relationships that last. You will grow professionally while helping others grow financially.
Ready to Make an Impact?
