Responsibilities

Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and site layouts for compliance
Inspect ongoing construction activities for quality, safety, and conformance to standards
Perform routine testing on concrete, soils, and other construction materials
Measure and verify dimensions, alignment, elevations, grades, and structural positioning
Maintain accurate field records, reports, and inspection documentation
Prepare field notes, calculations, and daily inspection logs
Assist senior inspectors and engineers with site supervision and quality control activities
Monitor construction methods and materials to ensure regulatory and contractual compliance
Support the resolution of site issues by reporting deviations or risks promptly

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent qualification
Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction inspection, including at least 1 year in roadway or bridge works
Ability to obtain required Florida and FDOT-related certifications within six months
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle screening
Basic computer proficiency and strong written documentation skills
Good command of written and spoken English for technical reporting
Physical ability to work on active construction sites in varying weather conditions
Willingness to work under supervision and follow structured training and certification plans
