About the Role
The CEI Inspector will be responsible for applying standard inspection procedures on active construction projects, with a focus on quality, safety, and compliance with approved plans, specifications, and codes. Responsibilities
- Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and site layouts for compliance
- Inspect ongoing construction activities for quality, safety, and conformance to standards
- Perform routine testing on concrete, soils, and other construction materials
- Measure and verify dimensions, alignment, elevations, grades, and structural positioning
- Maintain accurate field records, reports, and inspection documentation
- Prepare field notes, calculations, and daily inspection logs
- Assist senior inspectors and engineers with site supervision and quality control activities
- Monitor construction methods and materials to ensure regulatory and contractual compliance
- Support the resolution of site issues by reporting deviations or risks promptly
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction inspection, including at least 1 year in roadway or bridge works
- Ability to obtain required Florida and FDOT-related certifications within six months
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle screening
- Basic computer proficiency and strong written documentation skills
- Good command of written and spoken English for technical reporting
- Physical ability to work on active construction sites in varying weather conditions
- Willingness to work under supervision and follow structured training and certification plans
- International candidates must meet applicable U.S. work authorization requirements
