Job Description
Location: Amasaman, Accra.
Purpose
Lead and manage VisionFund Ghana’s new centralized credit appraisal program (HUB), which ensures efficient and accurate lending procedures while adhering to high-risk management and regulatory compliance standards.
Major Responsibility
- Lead and manage the HUB team, which includes Credit Analysts and Underwriters, while offering mentorship, direction, and performance management.
- Oversee the creation and execution of credit rules, processes, and risk assessment methods for the centralized appraisal process.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop strategic goals for the HUB and align its operations with VisionFund Ghana’s overarching mission and objectives.
- Monitor and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for loan processing efficiency, risk management, and portfolio quality.
- Coordinate with branch managers and other departments to ensure effective communication and integration of the centralized credit appraisal process.
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in credit risk management and lending operations.
- Continuously improve the HUB’s operations by optimizing processes, using new technologies, and developing team members.
- Manage interactions with external stakeholders, such as regulators and auditors, to ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and standards.
- Provide senior management with regular updates and insights into the HUB’s performance, difficulties, and areas for development.
Required Skill or Experience
Qualification
- A master’s degree in finance, business administration, economics, or a similar discipline.
- Professional credentials in banking and risk management are highly desirable.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, including at least
- 5 years in a senior capacity directing credit operations or risk management.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams in a fast-paced, results-driven workplace.
- In-depth understanding of credit analysis, underwriting processes, and risk management practices in microfinance.

- Must possess good leadership and team management ability.
- Must have great analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Need to be adaptable and resilient in the face of adversities.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Must be knowledgeable in financial analysis tools and credit scoring methods.
- Must be strongly committed to financial inclusion and microfinance ideals.
