Career Guidance Counsellor at Design & Technology Institute (DTI)
JOB PURPOSE
- To help DTI students plan their careers and give them advice about them.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Tell students what classes and programs they need to take in order to get certain jobs.
- Help people find jobs by showing them where to look for openings and putting them in touch with job search tools.
- Give advice to learners who want to change careers.
- Look at the school and work histories of the learners to help them figure out what they need to do next to reach their goals.
- Teach clients job-hunting skills like how to meet, write a resume, and network, and help them practice them.
- Useability tests to help students figure out what they are good at and where they need help.
- Plan and create job guidance programs that help learners, staff, and parents in a direct way.
- Implement career growth and guidance activities/programs.
- Create and run a job resource center for students, with the goal of improving career development through partnerships between schools and employers.
- Do any other tasks that are given to you.
Needed Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in guidance and counseling and at least five years of work in a similar job

Knowledge
- A good knowledge of TVET and competency-based education
Skills
- Know-how and skills in management and monitoring
- Skills in counseling and giving advice
- Skills in talking and listening

- Flexible
