Job Title: Procurement Officer

The Procurement Officer’s main job is to manage the daily purchasing of goods and services efficiently and cost-effectively while following legal and donor guidelines. They will help our sub-offices and project teams with procurement issues and will need to deal with customers professionally. They will also manage consultancy contracts and report to the Procurement Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and quality supply of goods and services, including consultants, following CARE rules.
- Handle both local and international procurement processes to meet company standards.
- Review purchase requests to ensure specifications are clear and approvals are in place.
- Work with other departments to complete purchasing documentation.
- Manage vendor relationships and keep accurate records for audits.
- Maintain an updated list of approved vendors with pricing and service ratings.
- Produce vendor performance reports every six months.
- Manage and monitor consultancy contracts.
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of procurement systems and donor regulations (EU, USAID, CIDA).
- At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably with an INGO or development organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Procurement, with relevant experience.
- Being a member of a professional procurement body (like CIPS, ISM) is a plus.
