Job Duties

As a Cardiac Anaesthetist, your responsibilities will include:

Providing anaesthesia services for cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures, including transplants.
Supporting interventional cardiology and electrophysiology procedures such as TAVI and lead extraction.
Conducting perioperative echocardiography, including transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiograms.
Collaborating with a dynamic anaesthesia team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Participating in training and education for junior staff and registrars.
Engaging in quality improvement and research initiatives within the department.

Job Requirements

To qualify for this position, candidates should possess:

Clinical expertise in cardiothoracic and ORL anaesthesia.
Registration or eligibility for specialist registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
Source verification of qualifications for the registration application.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
A commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
