Canadian Work Visa Permit Programs

However, to apply for a work permit in Canada, one does not always need to submit an employment plan.

Candidates for a work visa in Canada may choose between the following two options, depending on their occupation and other requirements:

1. Employer-Specific Work Permit

With this type of work visa, foreign experts are allowed to work for a single employer who has given them employment. In addition, the terms mentioned in the employer-specific work permit—which include the employer, the location, and the length of the employees’ assignments—will apply to their jobs.

Alternatively, at the time the application for an Employer-Specific Work Permit was submitted, the employer was required to provide the applicant with a copy of the employment contract and an LMIA with the job offer number.

It is not necessary for foreign citizens applying for an open work permit in Canada to present proof of an employment offer from a Canadian employer. Similarly, a copy of the LMIA or an employment offer number is not required for this kind of authorization.
