CAN I UPLOAD MY GHANA CARD ONLINE WITH MY BANK
The Bank of Ghana released a new policy that all licensed and regulated financial institutions in Ghana must now accept the Ghana Card. This Card must be a valid form of identity for all transactions. This policy was said to commence and be effective on the 1st of July, 2022.
In view of this, all customers of the accredited banks in Ghana were required to update their records with their Ghana Cards before July 1st, 2022. Failure to do will put you at a risk where you won’t be able to conduct any financial transaction through your bank account. To enable customers to do this, numerous banks have released online portals to enable their clients to link their Ghana Cards to their bank accounts.
Below is a detailed guide on how to upload and link your Ghana Card to your bank account online.
HOW TO UPLOAD YOUR GHNA CARD TO YOUR BANK ACCOUNT ONLINE
First, to link your Ghana Card with your bank online, you need to visit the online portal of your bank. Let’s consider the process for the following banks.
1. Zenith Bank
With Zenith Bank, you will have to visit the online portal: https://apps2.zenithbank.com.gh/ghanacard/. Afterward, you will be required to enter your account number, date of birth, and your phone number. Next, you will be asked to enter your Ghana Card number to complete the registration process. When this is done, you’ll wreckage a confirmation that you have successfully linked your Ghana Card with your bank account.
2 . Absa Bank
With Absa Bank, before you can link your Ghana Card, you need to make a scanned copy of the Card. After scanning your Ghana Card, you will have to send a copy to this email: ghanacardupdates@absa.africa to successfully link your card. You will be notified when this process or update is successful.
3 . Ghana Commercial Bank
First, you’ll have to visit GCB’s Ghana Card Link Portal. The next page that will pop up will require that you select or click on “Link My Card “. Next, you’ll need to enter your account number in a section provided. You will then receive an OTP code either through your email or phone number.
Verify the OTP code and you’ll then be asked to enter your Ghana Card ID number. Finally, you will be asked to take a picture of your Ghana Card and upload it to successfully link your Ghana Card to your bank account.

Moreso, with some banks, it is possible to check your Ghana Card linkage status through the online portal. Nonetheless, with some banks, you will have to visit the bank to verify if your Ghana Card has been linked successfully.
Also, note that not all banks have released this online portal. If you try to search for your bank’s online portal and you do not find it, then you will have to visit the bank in person to do that. However, an update will be given when other banks release their online portal for linking Ghana Card to your bank account
