BREAKING NEWS! NDC heads to the Supreme Court on Wednesday

December 26th, 2020 at 12:33 pm

The leadership of the National Democratic Congress will on Wednesday, 30th December 2020 go to the Supreme Court of Ghana to challenge the December 7th presidential results.

This was disclosed by Hon. Lawyer Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor, NDC Member of Parliament for South Dayi Constituency & a member of NDC legal Team. He revealed on Newsfile, hosted by Samson Lardy Anyenini that the party will be challenging both the presidential and parliamentary elections.

This comes after the NDC rejected the results declared by the Jean Mensah-led Electoral Commission after the December polls.

The party complained of massive voter fraud and other election irregularities. They took to the streets throughout the country to express their anger in a series of demonstrations.

“We’re saying [EC should] comply with the law. If you comply with the law and we emerge victorious that is fine. But you do not comply with the law and announce another candidate as the victor. No.” he stressed.

The next move of the party is to seek redress at the apex court of the Republic of Ghana, and this will happen on Wednesday, 30th December 2020. The NDC’s move to the Supreme Court came after the party tasked independent auditors to audit all the pink sheets in the various constituencies throughout the country.

Wednesday, 30th December 2020 is the last day of the mandated 21-days given under electoral laws for any aggrieved party in the election to file a legal challenge of the process.

As reported earlier by ghananewspress.com, there was massive jubilation and singing of hope songs after the team finished auditing the pink sheets.
