Core Responsibilities and Impact:
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining robust financial systems and providing critical support for our projects.
- Prepare and Analyze Financial Reports: Actively coordinate with the Finance Manager and regional team to prepare accurate financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for timely submission.
- Conduct Financial Reviews: Participate in monthly and quarterly meetings with project leads to review financial status, identify management actions, and update key financial information.
- Manage Accounting Systems: Maintain full functional responsibility for all accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and the general ledger, ensuring strict compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and local statutory laws.
- Ensure Compliance and Coding: Review all financial documents and purchase orders to guarantee accurate expense coding and full adherence to BRAC’s financial and procurement policies.
- Oversee Cash Management: Prepare quarterly cash requests, manage organizational cash flow, and process petty cash payments efficiently and securely.
- Perform Reconciliations and Reviews: Prepare regular bank reconciliations and meticulously review travel expense reports for policy compliance.
- Uphold Safeguarding Standards: Understand, promote, and rigorously endorse BRAC’s safeguarding policy, ensuring a safe environment and following reporting procedures without exception.
Required Qualifications and Professional Competencies:
To excel in this role, you will need a combination of formal education, relevant experience, and a specific skill set aligned with our mission.
- You possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration. Additionally, a postgraduate degree or a professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or CIMA is a strong advantage.
- You have at least three years of post-qualification experience in financial analysis and management, preferably within an NGO or international development organization.
- You demonstrate proven experience in project budget management, donor financial reporting, and preparing complex budget variance analyses.
- You exhibit extensive knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and accounting principles.
- You have advanced proficiency in Excel and financial software, along with demonstrable skill in preparing financial statements and management reports.
- You are independently motivated with excellent interpersonal skills, able to assess priorities, manage multiple tasks in a time-sensitive environment, and meet strict deadlines with exceptional attention to detail.
- You show flexibility and a collaborative spirit, working effectively as part of a diverse team to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
