Job Title: Administrative Officer

Who we are

Boxplay Ventures is an Accra based African venture builder that supports and co-creates transformational ventures solving the continent’s most challenging problems. We offer consulting and Venture-Building-as-a-Service and build in-house ventures from start to finish.

We are early in our ambitious journey. After our first angel investments in idea-stage startups at the beginning of 2022, we intend to exit stealth mode and commence operations from Accra, Ghana, in the first quarter of 2023. We will start to provide consulting services for investors, start-ups, and our portfolio ventures. These services include:

  • Venture building as a service
  • Investor Services

  • Venture Search
  • Due Diligence
  • Capital raising for tech startups
  • Capital raising preparation/advisory
  • Preparation of deal room
  • Writing of grant applications
  • Preparation of capital raise documents

  • Market Expansion for Ghanaian Startups
  • Market entry – Nigeria
  • Market entry – EU
  • Community and capacity building
  • Organisation of tech events
  • Development & organisation of tech capacity-building programs

What we offer you

  • First full-time employee with a standard Ghanaian employment contract and a competitive compensation package, including performance-based bonus payments.
  • 20 leave days per annum.

  • Gross salary range: GHS 3,500.00 – 5,500 (depending on suitability)

Whom we are looking for

We are looking for an early career hire with ambition and the drive to make an impact. To be successful in this role, you have the following profile and skills:

  • First degree in Business Administration and 1 – 2 years experience in admin- or finance-related roles is advantageous; exceptional candidates from different academic fields and completed national service will be considered.
  • You are at the beginning of your career; therefore, you must be a fast learner.
  • You possess integrity and intellectual honesty.
  • You are an independent thinker, and you can solve problems independently.
  • You have a can-do attitude.
  • You are an ambitious problem solver comfortable working in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • You are analytical and a numbers person.
  • You have strong organisational skills.
  • You have experience with office management software like MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint specifically) and Google sheets.
  • You can use collaborative online tools and streamline administrative processes.
  • You pay attention to detail.
  • You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Minimum typing speed of 30 WPM.
  • You can prove your worth; we value skills and ability over qualifications and experience; therefore, we will put you to the test in the application process.

Your primary/minimum duties

  • Manage office supplies and stock for BPV and our new ventures.
  • Then, Prepare regular reports on expenses and office budgets.
  • Maintain and update company databases.
  • Organize a filing system for important and confidential company documents.
  • Also, Answer queries by employees and clients.
  • Update office policies as needed.
  • Maintain a company calendar and schedule appointments.
  • Moreover, Book meeting venues as required.
  • Distribute and store correspondence (for example, letters, emails, and packages).
  • Prepare reports and presentations with statistical data.
  • Arrange travel and accommodations.
  • Schedule in-house and external events.
  • Assist service providers and advisory board with information requests.
  • Assist in company registrations and obtaining operating permits for our ventures.

Your extra duties

  • As a young firm, we expect you to handle additional duties. Some of these duties will include:
  • Liaising with service providers
  • Contributing to and aggregating content ideas for social media for the graphic design team
  • In addition, the founder and the advisory board may assign additional duties.
