Ghanaian actress Beverly Afaglo has written a lengthy and thoughtful piece on Instagram in quest to advice the youth of today.
In a post sighted by Newsnow.com.gh, the actress mentioned that when she was growing up, her dream was not to drive a car at age 25. Beverly said that during her time, their main aim was to have good education and better their lives after school. She meant to say that they worked hard to gain what they have. She went on to say that the youth of today have changed the “game”. She wrote that today’s youth want to be successful overnight; that they want to jump from zero to 100 in a twinkle of an eye. She said this following a post she came across on social media that reads “At 25years, you should be driving even if it means driving someone crazy, just drive!!!”.
Moving on, she said that it would be great if one drives his own car at the age of 25 and be proud because he worked decently and diligently for it. However, Beverly went on to caution the youth not let social media fool them because not all that glitters is gold. She further encouraged them to go through the right channel to make their own money as that is honorable.
She added that we are all on different journeys so we should bear in mind that we are not going to be successful at once. She said that some would be rich at a tender age whereas others at a later age therefore we should not force to be rich in a flash or in a dubious way because everyone’s star would shine one day.
She concluded by motivating young people to keep working hard and decently because their hard work would pay off one day.
