It’s time to begin getting ready for the ICP Connect Scholarship 2026, a program supported by VLIR-UOS that will accept applications again at the end of October 2025.

This serves as your initial resource for all the essential information—and actions—you should take to enhance your likelihood of being chosen for one of the most significant scholarships for students from Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

About the ICP Connect Scholarship

The ICP Connect scholarship assists driven students from 30 qualifying low- and middle-income nations to pursue English-language master’s programs at Flemish universities or universities of applied sciences and arts in Belgium. The programs aim to support sustainable development and equip students to become change-makers in their native countries after they graduate.

Scholarship Benefits

The ICP Connect scholarship is fully financed and encompasses:

  • Cost of tuition (complete coverage)
  • Return flight ticket
  • Insurance
  • Monthly stipends for food, housing, and personal expenditures.
  • Duration: Complete length of the master’s course (1, 2, or 3 years)

Key Reminder: This scholarship is for the complete duration of your program—no partial funding or extensions are offered.

Eligibility Requirements

Take this opportunity before applications begin to assess your eligibility. You need to fulfil these requirements:

  • Nationality & Residence: Must be a citizen of and live in one of the 30 qualifying countries in Africa, Asia, or Latin America at the time of application.
  • Age Restrictions: Individuals must be under 35 for bachelor’s or initial master’s programs, under 45 for advanced master’s programs, and at least 19 for bachelor’s candidates (as of January 1 of the enrolment year)
  • Professional Experience: Priority is offered to candidates involved in higher education, government, or civil society, or those who can show how they will enhance development in these areas.
  • No Previous Belgian Scholarship or Education: You must not have been awarded a Belgian government scholarship or have studied in Belgium prior to the intake year.
  • Single Application Only: You can apply for just one ICP Connect scholarship annually—submitting more than one will result in disqualification.

  • Professional Importance: Having experience or interest in fields such as education, policy, or development work will enhance your application.
