Akosua Acheampomaa Acheampong, Ghanaian singer and actress also known as Becca found herself in trouble on social media for calling some Africans who are fighting and advocating racism in the US hypocrites. At exactly 8:05pm, yesterday, she posted on her official twitter handle the message that those Africans are hypocrites. She started trending few minutes later and all comments on her were comments rubbishing and Jabbing her statement.
Most people have commented that indeed the statement was a very thoughtful one but then it shouldn’t have come from someone like Becca who has bleached her skin enough to betray her color. some called her names like “betrayer of race”, “Michael Jackson”, and so on…
There were comments that she is using that as an opportunity to shame family members and haters who have criticized her of marrying a Nigerian.
British-Ghanaian actress, Ama K Anebrese came in later to make some peace as she stated that all both sides of argument are wrong. She said that it’s incomparable to equate the fight for systematic racism in the US to African tribalism in marriage and hypocrisy. Murder is not marriage.
